“As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” Proverbs 27:17
Sometimes sharpening comes in the form of motivation, sometimes encouragement and often times it can be painful. One thing clearly indicated by the author of this proverb is that sharpening comes from direct contact and interaction between two men. Much can be gained by spending time with Christian men who have different countries of origin, experiences and are in different phases of life. As we look for ways to be salt and light in our homes, workplaces and community, God calls us to seek fellowship (and to break bread) with each other.
One of the easiest ways to get plugged in to what’s happening, and also enjoy some food and fellowship, is to come out for the weekly men’s breakfast. We meet on Wednesday at 7AM (Casa Zoe on Xinghan Jie, by Singa Plaza). Each week we spend some time catching up, do a short devotional, and break bread together (in the form of pancakes!). Our prayer is that God will use it as a forum for connecting men and launching other ways to get His plan for Suzhou moving forward.
