The DLC/SIF Library is located just about directly below the pulpit in the main sanctuary on the back of the first floor. It is staffed by SIF personnel from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. and by DLC staff after 12:00 p.m.
The SIF Library is strictly a library by donation only. We do not have a budget to buy any book and everything that we have is received through donation. I am proud to say that the SIF Library has an excellent collection of Christian fiction books and it is the most borrowed book category. The library accepts and keeps books from all denominations but we do screen every book donated to us. Books with questionable doctrine or teaching are usually reviewed by the pastor before accepted into the library or returned/discarded. The SIF Library keeps books in three languages: English, German, and Chinese. The largest collection is English by far. With the joint effort with the Chinese congregation, the DLC Library has a sizeable Chinese books collection compared with our small collection. In addition to books, we also have music CDs and Christian movie DVDs.
To serve in the library, volunteers need to have an understanding of the Dewey index system and a love for books. The rest is quite easy and anyone can be trained in less than 30 minutes. To serve, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
