Small groups are an extremely important part of life at SIF. In the New Testament (Acts 2:46) the believers often met in small groups, we also see that Jesus himself had a small group of disciples. Here are 7 benefits of belonging to a small group:
• Spiritual Growth – You’ll get to know the Biblebetter as discussion and study happen.
• Prayer – You will be prayed for and help pray for others.
• Support – You’ll find a family you can share your challenges, frustrations and joys with
• Evangelism – It’s easy to bring a seeking friend to someones home.
• Leadership development – Opportunities to lead the study occur and this will stretch and develop your giftings.
• Family – Feel part of a community while you are in a country away from your biological family and relatives.
• Worship – You’ll realise that worship doesn’t only happen on a Sunday.
As expats, we need the support and encouragement from other believers during our stay here in China.
You can also consider starting a new small group. Maybe you already have a group of friends you would like to meet with regularly to study the Bible together? We would love to help you get started!
